The New Beauty Obsession: Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat Nail Varnish

YOU THERE!!!! Impatient painter of nails….

Do you suffer the urge to move around and touch things shortly after you paint your nails? Yep, me too. It’s that time when we realise just how impatient we really are and how we cannot sit still for 5 minutes.

There have been very few times that I have finished painting my nails and they are completely smudge free, it just doesn’t happen. UNTIL NOW! (drumroll please)

The Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat Nail Varnish is a dream come true and has now become a must have when pampering my hands.

I discovered it after a friend suggested I try some quick drying nail varnish after never being able to not smudge my supposed works of art. I went and had a browse around a Sally’s beauty store and after asking the shop assistant her recommendation she couldn’t rave about it any more.

It’s pretty self-explanatory. You paint your nails as you usually would then apply a topcoat of the Seche varnish and wait for a minute. I waited two just to be sure but that seemed like more than enough time. My nails were smudge free and ready to go. The Seche varnish also made my nails chip resistant and they stayed looking slick for a week (usually mine would chip after a couple of days)

The Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat Nail Varnish can be found in Sally Beauty stores, Boots and bought online from stores including ASOS and Amazon. The prices vary from £9.00 to £13.00. The cheapest and probably the most convenient if like me, you live in London, is Boots:

If you have never heard of Jon Hopkins, put down what you are doing immediately and listen.

If you have heard of Jon Hopkins, put down what you are doing immediately and listen.

This track ‘Immunity’ literally stopped me from what I was doing when I heard it. The beats trip under a beautiful piece of piano and the whole song, which is almost 10 minutes long, is emotional and stunning.

This gem of a find then lead me to discover the whole ‘Immunity’ album which is a thoughtful musical journey from start to finish, powerful yet delicate and beautiful. An album that will be one of my favourites for 2013.

Go forth and enjoy!

The New Beauty Obsession – Dr. Organic Manuka Honey Face Mask

I recently discovered Dr Organic products whilst wandering around Holland and Barrett. I have always heard that Manuka Honey is great for the skin but can be expensive so when I found Dr Organic’s Manuka Honey face mask for £7.19 I was obviously pretty pleased with myself.

The key ingredients of the mask include manuka honey extract, aloe vera juice, shea butter, coco butter, vitamin e and everything involved is completely natural and organic.

The texture is light, the smell is glorious and it doesn’t sting when put on the skin like a lot of other face masks can do. You leave it on for the standard 10 minutes and then rinse off. After using the mask my skin felt as you would hope; soft and fresh.

I have now being using the mask, twice a week as recommended, for about a month and it has definitely helped to keep my skin bright, blemish free and looking good. A friend of mine who is also trying out the product has said that it has helped calm redness in her skin.

It is definitely worth the money, especially as it comes in a nice 125ml tube. It’s much better then the usual face masks we tend to use that are full of chemicals and it smells like honey!

Dr Organic have a whole Manuka Honey range that you can check out:

You can pop into your local Holland and Barrett to grab the face mask or check out the link here:

The New Music Obsession – Rae Morris – From Above

I will be the first to admit, I am not the biggest fan of singer-songwriters. They have to be pretty damn special to get my attention. Don’t get me wrong, there are some great ones out there, especially so at the moment but it’s not something I would usually listen to on a regular basis. This tune however is very different,  I have had it on repeat for the last month and I’ve not grown tired of it.

I discovered Rae Morris whilst listening to Shoreditch Radio and her voice grabbed my attention and stopped me dead in my tracks. There is something about this track that really resonates with me and I myself am not even sure what it is, mainly because it could be many things. Rae’s voice is quite simply, beautiful. I follow the melody with ease and feel hugely connected when I listen to the song. When watching the video there are no airs and graces and once again, it is beautiful in it simplicity. Here is a young girl, completely natural, in her own domain telling us her story. Not only do I feel every word she is singing but I want to know more. She has an intriguing quality about her.

I’m sure that I am going to love the rest of her music just as much but right now I am too obsessed with this song to find out.
