The New Food Obsession – Nakd Bars

20130528-234811.jpg

I’m not going to lie, I have become a tiny, little bit obsessed with eating healthily at the moment. There’s nothing wrong with that surely?!

After 30 days of strict detoxing I found pleasure in places I never thought possible. Holland & Barrett, Whole Foods and B Green were all names I used to know, maybe not love though, well now its different. Having to find replacements to feed my craving for sugars I was VERY happy to discover Nakd Bars and the fact they are good for you.

One of my favourite bloggers is Madeleine Shaw. She’s an amazing nutritionist and health coach who provides awesome recipes, food tips, lifestyle advise and even a good inspirational quote. I like to check her blog regularly for recipes and the like. It was Madeleine’s post about healthy on the go snacks that put me on to Nakd Bars.

So, down to the nitty gritty. The little bars of delight are made up of dried fruits and nuts and are free from gluten, dairy and wheat. They come in loads of flavours to keep things interesting (my favourite is the cocoa orange flavour) and they genuinely taste great.

You can pick them up in Holland & Barrett, Whole Food Stores and in most supermarkets in the whole foods aisle. Also check out their website for some good deals and more info: http://www.naturalbalancefoods.co.uk/nakd-fruit-and-nut-bars/

The New Beauty Obsession – MaxFactor CC Cream

20130516-225607.jpg

Many hours have been spent wandering the aisles of boots, trying to make those tricky life choices. Which new products to try? Which brand? Have I chosen the right shade? etc.

Well, in one of those Saturday afternoon dilemmas I needed a new foundation after leaving most of my make up in the back of a taxi.

I usually go for mac when it comes to foundation but that wasn’t an option right now so I was forced to make an important decision.

Most have heard of BB cream and it has a pretty good reputation. Now there is CC cream.

It was new, it was on offer, it looked good. I gave it a go and I’m so glad I did.

With a velvety texture, light finish and good coverage, MaxFactors CC Cream was a really pleasant surprise and yes, I’m obsessed. I have ranted on to most of my friends about its magical powers. It has that finish that most women dream of. The one that makes you look like you’re not wearing any make up and your skin is just naturally flawless and a little bit radiant to boot.

And here is the CC cream with added make up

MaxFactor’s CC Cream comes in three shades – Fair, Natural and Tanned. I went for the Natural shade.

Price wise its very reasonable at £9.99 from Superdrug: http://www.superdrug.com/face/max-factor-cc-cream-shade-50-natural/invt/650055&bklist=

The New Music Obsession – Daft Punk, Pharrell Williams, Nile Rodgers – Get Lucky

When I first heard that Daft Punk and Pharrell were working on a collabroation together I knew it would be something special. This I didnt expect. This track makes me want to leap out of bed, run singing through meadows, twirl around with my arms out wide and then go and cause trouble on a beach with some of my best friends. All of this would happen after reverting back to 21 of course.

I am talking about the track that I’m happy to crown as the summer hit of 2013. Get Lucky by Daft Punk featuring Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers.
